Contact Lens Case Cleaning Regimen
It's important to keep your contact lenses and case clean to prevent dry eye, red eye, eye infection, eye inflammation and blindness. For non daily disposable contact lenses, please clean your contact lenses and case daily.
1. WASH YOUR HANDS (with soap and water) prior to handling contact lenses and case. Dry your hands completely with a lint-free towel. Your hands can carry germs that can contaminate your contact lenses and case. 2. EMPTY THE OLD SOLUTION in the case. Never re-use old solution or "top off" new with old solution. Used solution is no longer sterile and can promote bacteria growth. |
3. RUB AND RINSE your contact lens case like how you would clean your contact lenses. The rubbing and rinsing method helps to ensure your contact lens case is clean. Squirt multipurpose contact solution into the case and rub away any deposits and old solution with your finger. Dump the solution out of the case. Do the final rinse on your contact lens case with a stream of contact lens multipurpose solution OR with Menicon's Lacripure saline solution in its single usage vial. Follow the same steps for the caps and plunger if you use a plunger to help you with hard contact lens removal. Never use water to clean your contact lens case, contact lenses or plunger. Always allow the contact lens case and plunger to air dry completely before use them or store them away.
4. AIR DRY your contact lens case completely by placing it face down on a clean paper towel, and then seal it with the caps once it is dry.
